We’re decorating the tree and anywhere else that needs a bauble
Baby it’s cold outside, so at Playgroup we bring the outside inside!
Playgroup is busy getting all ready for the children coming back next week.
You will never guess what we will be learning about for the next 3 week?!
The Playgroup kids had a fantastic time at Playgroup this morning supporting Children In Need. Our parents came to join us and we had coffee and cake and lots of fun activities to raise money for Pudsey. Great job kids!
It was a very chilly morning outside at playgroup, so we made some snacks/ feeders for the birds who might need some food as the weather gets colder.
This week our children have been reading "Handa's Surprise". We've loved this story and made our own baskets. The children asked could they wear their baskets of fruit on their head just like Handa, so that's exactly what we did!
The children used toothbrushes to make lots of colourful marks with paints! Our Playgroup children always love painting their hands too and they even did this with the toothbrushes, it felt very tickly!
We used toothbrushes and 'toothpaste' to brush the teeth in our outdoor tray! The children enjoyed exploring with the toothbrushes and of course with their hands too!
At Playgroup we like to promote the children to use their physical and gross motor skills daily! We have lots of space for the children to ride bikes and scooters, 'drive' cars, run, hop, skip, jump, climb our climbing equipment and of course dance! Our physical skills help us to keep our bodies and minds active as well as help us to negotiate space and distance and cooperatively play with others!
We have had lots of outdoor fun already this term. The children decided that we needed to wash our 'brand new' cars and with support from the 'Aunties' they made a shopping list of everything that they would need... and of course it's safety first at "Newbold Car-Wash", no car-wash is complete without a high-vis jacket! Well done everyone! Our cars are sparkling now!
As the weather starts to get a little colder and much wetter please ensure your child brings a warm/ waterproof coat to playgroup so we can continue to have lots of outdoor fun and learning!
What a fantastic start we have had to our Autumn Term! We've been learning all about keeping our bodies and minds active and healthy with our "Healthy Me" topic. The children have loved reading 'The Big Red Bath' story and creating bubble pictures for our display!
We would like to say a big thank you to all of our children and their families for being so welcoming to our brand new Auntie Kaye, Auntie Indya-Rose and of course to Auntie Lisa who has returned again to support us this term!
We will continue to update the page regularly with pictures, our topics and themes and of course any upcoming news and notices!
This week, we will say goodbye to our lovely Auntie Sue who is retiring after many years leading our Playgroup. We are sad to lose her, but so thankful for all the love, expertise, nurture and learning she has provided for so many children. She has been a true blessing.
We know that many of you will have fond memories of Auntie Sue and will want to join us in wishing her a long, happy and relaxing retirement!
Messy play at Playgroup
A bit of Christmas cuteness to share with you x
This morning our wonderful playgroup children performed their virtual nativity, for the video camera! They have done a fantastic job and the video will be sent out to parents today. Enjoy!

Our playgroupers are wearing their Pyjamas today to raise money for Crackerjacks Children’s Trust - supporting children living with a disability. Good job kids
Lovely to welcome the first of our children back to Newbold Community Playgroup this morning. We had a fun and fabulous time
Excited to start Playgroup with your little ones on Monday
Reminder to parents:
See you very soon
They’re back! So lovely to be back at Playgroup learning and playing together.
Here’s a fun painty activity to try using a fork from your kitchen. We’d love to see your pictures if you give this a try.
If you’re looking for a project to do with your little ones, this is a nice idea. You may have an Elmer story book at home or, if not, then there are Elmer stories available to watch on YouTube. Then you could make your own Elmer the Elephant by cutting the top off a milk bottle and sticking coloured paper or tissue paper to it. Sticky but fun.
Here’s a video of Finn doing some letter blending. Good job Finn!
Wow Benjamin! We love your rainbow painting! Very creative
